7T partnered with Three Colonist to build the 3D foundation behind a fully customizable apparel platform, allowing users to design personalized garments from a library of interchangeable templates and modular components. Every garment needed to support countless combinations of colors, patterns, and clothing pieces while remaining visually and technically consistent.
What began as a 3D asset production engagement evolved into a 2.5-year partnership where Three Colonist became the technical and production lead for the platform's 3D ecosystem. We worked alongside 7T to build the modular production pipeline, establish technical standards, define production workflows, and create the systems required to scale enterprise-level content creation.
Over the course of the project, Three Colonist coordinated production across nearly 100 contributors, synchronizing work between four production studios and teams working across India and the United States. Beyond production management, we developed custom production tools, integrated plugins, built an automated QA/QC portal, supported WebGL optimization, and established reusable workflows that significantly reduced production costs while enabling consistent delivery.
The project ultimately delivered 400+ configurable garment templates built from thousands of interchangeable components, creating the production foundation for one of the largest configurable apparel platforms developed by the client.
Every digital garment was built from real production patterns provided by professional fashion designers. Unlike traditional game clothing, each asset had to preserve real-world construction, sizing, and fit while remaining suitable for a fully interactive 3D configurator.
To support the apparel system, our character artists created four female body types and one male body that became the platform's digital foundation. Every garment was fitted against these characters, ensuring consistent proportions, accurate sizing, and reliable garment behaviour across every body type.
Every sleeve, collar, cuff, trim, and panel had to function as an interchangeable component. We also developed a standardized layering system that ensured garments from multiple artists and production teams could stack, combine, and behave consistently across thousands of outfit combinations.
Scaling the project meant building a production ecosystem that unified multiple studios, technical teams, and artists under one standardized workflow while supporting automation, production standards, and enterprise-scale content creation.
Three Colonist became an embedded technical and production partner, leading the development of the platform's modular 3D ecosystem from concept to large-scale production. Working closely with 7T, we established the production pipeline, technical standards, modular asset architecture, and scalable workflows that powered the configurator. Beyond asset production, we developed custom production tools, integrated plugins, built an automated QA/QC portal, supported WebGL optimization, and coordinated production across multiple teams. These systems enabled consistent enterprise-scale production while significantly reducing production overhead through standardization, automation, and reusable asset systems.

We produced 400+ configurable garment templates, each assembled from an average of 8–10 modular components. Beyond asset production, we developed a standardized modular layering system that allowed garments to be stacked, combined, and interchanged seamlessly across thousands of variations. Every sleeve, collar, cuff, trim, and panel followed the same construction logic, ensuring consistent fit, layering, and compatibility regardless of which artist or production team created the asset.

Our team developed custom production plugins, built an automated QA/QC portal, established production standards, and supported WebGL optimization to streamline production, validation, and delivery at scale.
Three Colonist led day-to-day coordination between developers, technical artists, project managers, and production teams working across India and the United States. As the project expanded, we synchronized production across four studios, maintaining consistent quality, communication, and on-time delivery throughout the 2.5-year partnership.
